2020 Spirit of NH Awards

December 9 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free

Volunteer NH has been hosting the Spirit of NH Awards as an annual celebration of volunteerism since 2003. This event recognizes those who go above and beyond the call to serve throughout the Granite State, shining a spotlight on the often unsung heroes among us in front of an audience of their families, friends, colleagues, and the greater community.

If you are familiar with the Spirit of NH Awards, you won’t be surprised to hear that the 2020 event will look a little different. Public health concerns mean that we will not be gathering together in person, but we have taken this unfortunate situation as an opportunity to re-imagine meaningful methods of celebrating!

We are planning a social media campaign leading up to a virtual, live-streamed event on December 9. Please read on for details.

When: Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM (Note: end time has been extended from 7:30 to 8:00 PM)

Where: This will be a virtual event, live-streamed from the Bank of NH Stage in Concord, NH. Details about how to access the stream are forthcoming.

Who: This event will be FREE for everyone to tune into. Attendees will include award recipients and their families/friends/colleagues, along with anyone else who wants to join in on this celebration of service!

What: The Spirit of NH Awards is an annual recognition event where nominated individuals and groups are honored for their exemplary volunteerism, and businesses and nonprofit/public service organizations are celebrated for their promotion of volunteer service initiatives. This year, we will also be presenting the Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Manager of the Year Award.

Bonus: For the first time ever, this year’s Spirit of NH Awards will incorporate a People’s Choice Award! Individuals will be able to vote for anyone they think deserves extra recognition. Voting will open up on Monday, November 30, and close at 7 PM on Wednesday, December 9 (halfway through the live-streamed event); one vote per person per day will be allowed. The winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced toward the end of the live-streamed event. Badges can be downloaded to use on social media, in your email signature, on your website, or anywhere else you can think of:
