- Attend alumni and current member events (including Days of Service)
- Review AmeriCorps and other Volunteer NH grants.
- Become a mentor for a current AmeriCorps member
- Check out our resources (including planning your next steps)

Attend Events as an Alum
Want to stay updated about national service in NH but don’t have a lot of time? Come to one of our events as an attendee – or even as an alum speaker!
Events can include:
- National Days of Service (MLK Jr. Day, AmeriCorps Week, 9/11 Day of Service)
- Spirit of NH Awards
- Governor’s Conference on Volunteerism
Do you have a couple of hours a month? Then consider serving on an event committee!
Review AmeriCorps Program Grants
Volunteer NH hosts two grant competitions for organizations that want to operate AmeriCorps programs every year.
The Competitive Grant Competition is a national competition. Applicants apply to VNH, and after successful staff and community review, VNH submits them to AmeriCorps to make the final determination (applicants compete against each other nationally). Successful applicants will receive three-year grants.
The Formula Grant Competition is a state competition. Volunteer NH receives a limited amount of dollars to fund NH AmeriCorps program and planning grants (planning grants are smaller grants given to organizations to spend up-to one year developing a potential AmeriCorps program). VNH is ultimately able to make the final decisions for funding (pending AmeriCorps final review).
We need community reviewers for both competitions to provide feedback and suggestions for improvement!

Become a Mentor for an AmeriCorps Member
Do you have professional skills and knowledge that you’d like to share? Would you like to be a supportive presence in an AmeriCorps member’s life? Are you able to talk about the ways members can work their way into a successful career?
Then consider becoming an AmeriCorps mentor!
VNH is working to set up a pilot mentor program, but we need your help to do it.
