CONCORD, NH – Members of the public are invited to recognize volunteers and volunteer champions serving New Hampshire communities within the past 12 months by submitting an award nomination through this form: https://bit.ly/3z3HiOK. Volunteer NH is accepting these nominations now through September 2nd for the state’s largest volunteer recognition event, the Spirit of NH Awards.

“Volunteers are the backbone of our communities,” says Gretchen Stallings, Executive Director of Volunteer NH. “Many in the Granite State make volunteering a part of their daily life: tackling food insecurity, bringing joy to hospice patients, maintaining our state’s natural and cultural resources, supporting our students, and more. It is important to honor those who gave their time and talent to make a difference where the need was the greatest in this past year.”

This celebration shines a light on the dedicated service of volunteers as well as the critical infrastructure that sets volunteers up to make a positive community impact. Awards will be made across six categories:

  • Youth/Young Adult (ages 22 and younger)
  • Adult (ages 23-64)
  • Senior (ages 65 and older)
  • AmeriCorps (State/National/VISTA/Seniors)
  • Group (2+ people who regularly volunteer together or with the same organization)
  • Volunteer Champion (businesses and nonprofit/public service organizations)

All eligible nominees will be recognized with an award. Additionally, an independent review committee will select one Outstanding Award for each category plus the top honor, the Spirit of NH Award, which is kept secret until presented on event night. As a parallel to this esteemed, committee-selected award, the general public will vote to decide the People’s Choice Award recipient based on awardee interviews shared in the weeks leading up to the event.

The 2022 Spirit of NH Awards ceremony will take place on the evening of Wednesday, November 16th, at the Bank of NH Stage in Concord, NH. The ceremony is made possible by Volunteer NH’s Annual Sponsors including: DCU, the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation, and other generous contributors.
