CONCORD, NH – In order to critically examine and address barriers that may prevent communities, individuals, or organizations from engaging in their work, Volunteer NH has recently begun a contract with Manchester, NH-based consulting firm, Organizational Ignition. Volunteer NH is committed to using their position as a state service commission to work towards the goal that all people have access to service opportunities and are included in the leadership, development, and implementation of those opportunities.

“We are thrilled to partner with Organizational Ignition on this essential work,” said Gretchen Stallings, Executive Director of Volunteer NH. “Volunteer NH provides funding and other critical resources to address a variety of community needs. In order to best serve our constituents, we must examine our practices and prioritize learning and growth as it relates to the pillars of justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.”

The scope of this work with Organizational Ignition will include an analysis of current policies, practices, organizational culture, and community perception through surveys, interviews, and focus groups. The consultant group will make recommendations for improvements, including a training and accountability plan to set Volunteer NH up for successful adoption and implementation of these recommendations.

James McKim, the lead consultant on this project, is Managing Partner of Organizational Ignition, a Management Consulting practice. He is a sought-after organizational performance speaker, coach, change manager, and author of the best-selling book The Diversity Factor: Igniting Superior Organizational Performance. Mr. McKim is known internationally for his current focus on organizational and individual performance through diversity, equity, and inclusion.
