May 2025 | Recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month

Join us in recognizing Mental Health Awareness Month. Our goal is to recognize the ways mental illness impacts our lives and communities, and educate people about services we have available to help. Throughout May we will be offering a free suicide awareness training, highlighting NH organizations that solve mental health challenges through volunteerism and sharing how we provide funding to aid in this initiative.

Get involved today by taking the QPR Suicide Awareness Training, sign up to volunteer on Get Connected or learn more about state-wide grant making initiatives we’ve taken on to increase volunteer capacity for organizations serving one of the leading challenges in our state.

QPR Suicide Awareness Training

As volunteers and volunteer program staff, you are often on the front lines of community service, connecting with individuals who may be struggling. Volunteer NH is offering free online “Gatekeeper” training from the QPR Institute to help you make a difference when it matters most.

This training will equip you to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and learn how to Question, Persuade, and Refer someone to get the help they need. The course is online, flexible, self-paced, and can be completed in around 60 minutes on your own schedule.
