Volunteer NH is transitioning to an annual sponsorship model, where sponsors commit to sponsoring our organization for a full year. This approach streamlines the sponsorship process and allows funds to go further toward Volunteer NH’s programming and operations.

Annual sponsorship is  also beneficial for sponsors like you, who will be able to plan farther ahead while simultaneously receiving wider exposure for your vital support of Volunteer NH. Payment can be up-front or spread out over the year.

    Why choose annual sponsorship?

    • Comprehensive and consistent marketing: we want to help you be successful in sharing your business within our networks!
    • Positive exposure: associate your organization with community engagement year-round.
    • Simplicity: set up the whole year at once.
    • Ease of planning: budget further in advance.

The dedicated team of Volunteer NH staff, Board of Directors, committee/taskforce members, and other partners work together every day to:

    • Connect volunteers with opportunities to tackle food insecurity, support survivors of domestic violence, mentor youth, and more.
    • Celebrate outstanding volunteer contributions.
    • Train volunteers, volunteer managers, and volunteer champions to partner in addressing community needs.
    • Steward AmeriCorps resources to tackle our nation’s most pressing challenges right here in New Hampshire.

Each year, Volunteer NH collaborates with local organizations & community members to host events and provide resources which further our mission.

    The Governor’s Conference on Volunteerism

Event Summary: Our annual conference is a professional development opportunity for volunteer managers and others involved in volunteerism. Engaging presenters from New Hampshire and beyond share their insight into a variety of classic and timely topics ranging from volunteer management to fundraising to justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI). The Governor’s Outstanding Volunteer Manager of the Year Award, created by former Governor John Sununu, is also presented during the conference.

Event Impact: This event serves to support and strengthen New Hampshire’s volunteer programs and organizations through networking and the sharing of best practices.

Event Reach: The 2022 conference was attended by nearly 300 nonprofit leaders/employees (including many volunteer managers), volunteers (including board members), AmeriCorps & AmeriCorps Seniors staff/members/volunteers, and business professionals interested in corporate social responsibility

    The Spirit of NH Awards

Event Summary: This event – the largest volunteer recognition event in the state – is a time when individuals and groups are honored for their exemplary volunteerism, and businesses and nonprofit/public service organizations are celebrated for their promotion of volunteer service initiatives.

Event Impact: The Spirit of NH Awards event provides individual recognition of each awardee (often 100+), with special focus on each category’s Outstanding Award and the reveal of two top awards: the People’s Choice Award (selected by the general public) and the prestigious Spirit of NH Award (selected by community reviewers).

Event Reach: Hundreds of awardees/families/friends/colleagues; individuals looking for inspiration of where to volunteer; anyone else wanting a feel-good evening. Our 2022 event live-stream has had 500+ views!

      Volunteer & Volunteer Program Support

VolunteerNH.org: Our website is home to a variety of content centered around our mission: engaging NH communities to solve local challenges through volunteerism – and had an average of nearly 4,000 page views per month in 2021. There are pages dedicated to our events, AmeriCorps programs, blog, and more. The Volunteer Resource Center is our latest addition, compiling a wide range of free webinars, templates/tools, funding opportunities, and other resources in one convenient location.

Get Connected: Volunteers use Get Connected to find nearby opportunities that fit their interests and schedules. Nonprofits use it to attract, manage, and report on volunteer activities in their organizations. Needs are searchable and categorized by location, organization and/or focus (such as animals, disaster relief, etc.). With Get Connected, both volunteering and volunteer recruitment have never been easier.

Volunteer Generation Fund (VGF): This federal AmeriCorps funding is utilized to strengthen nonprofit organizations to recruit and retain volunteers to meet critical community needs. During the 2021-2022 grant period, Volunteer NH awarded $276,959 to a cohort of 11 nonprofits, which supported more 3,900 volunteers as they served over 231,300 hours! In 2022, Volunteer NH launched an additional VGF opportunity for specific, one-time needs in order to better support smaller and historically under-served organizations that may not have the capacity to manage larger federal grants. We awarded $28,902 to 9 nonprofits with nearly 3,000 active volunteers.
