Normandeau Associates, founded in 1970 and headquartered in Bedford, NH, is one of the largest and most respected natural science-based environmental consulting firms in the U.S. The company is 100% employee-owned through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). There are close to 200 employees in the ESOP and company shares are distributed based on years of service (50%) and level of compensation (50%), thus there is broad company ownership. Every employee counts. Employee ownership provides long term value to each employee, promotes pride in the work done, and enhances technical excellence and the ability to solve complex environmental problems. A highly motivated staff investigates and develops sustainable approaches for our clients and for our operations.

While commitment to the environment is certainly a key company core value, another key core value is community outreach and volunteerism. From top management down, Normandeau Associates is led by people who are devoted to making a positive difference in their communities. CEO, Pam Hall, sets the example of what it means to serve and volunteer in the community.

Throughout her career, Pam has volunteered her time on many non-profit boards and commissions, and in many cases has served in leadership positions. Pam proudly served for four years as Chair of the Volunteer NH Board of Directors, NH’s State Commission for the Corporation for National and Community Service, and prior to that served four years as Vice Chair. As of January 2017, she is Chair Emerita. Pam works hard to help promote volunteerism and to recognize the service that volunteers commit themselves to throughout the state of New Hampshire. She was appointed to the VNH Board in 2008 by Governor Lynch and was re-appointed twice by Governor Maggie Hassan.

Prompted by the example of Pam’s leadership, the company as a whole engages in fund raisers, food drives, and the United Way Day of Caring and many other charitable activities, primarily through the organizational efforts of the ESOP Advisory Committee. Employees just entering the workforce have expectations of their employers as far as community service. Senior corporate officers volunteer for many non-profit boards and committees, as do many Normandeau employees. Normandeau Associates donates an average of 5-10% of its net profit annually to numerous charitable organizations.
